This image was me playing baseball. I used Photoshop to create the gradient, and I chose the yellow and blue gradient because I liked that it was a lot different than the original image.

The negative space from the holes in the shape let quite a bit of light through the lantern, but the triangle positive space created a cool shadow and I liked the way the triangles overlapped in the shadow.
I think the selfie is overused, I don't think it is really art and doesn't really connect to a self portrait, besides the fact that the image is of the "artist." I planned to use a lot of mirrors, and hopefully use water, but there was no water suitable for this project. I liked the one with all the mirrors because it was interesting and thought it was the most appealing. Explain the difference between realistic, abstract and non-objective. How does this relate to your photo series?
Realistic is the top left, and it is the original photo that looks real and has no edits. Abstract and non-objective are two edits that change the color and make small edits, but it is still possible to tell what what the original image looked like, or it at least gives you an idea. Then, non-objective is an edit on the photo that makes it look cool, but you cannot tell what the image used to be or what it looked like. Aperture is how accurate and focused your lens is depending on how wide the shudder is opened. when it is wide it captures more and focuses on a wider range. Depth of field depends on focusing on certain ranges and depths and what seems to be in the front or the back.
The light source for all of the photos was the sun. For the first image, the shadow is the basketball hoop, I stood behind it at and angle where you couldn't see my shadow. Then the second image is a tree. I tried to get it where you could see all of the features of the tree and it's branches in the shadow. The last one was in the gazebo. I wanted to get the shadow of the "M" in the railing but the sun wasn't at the correct angle so I tried this one and I liked it.
The elements are created by the principles. For example, there can be lines of color, or repetition of shapes. No, there is always shapes and color/values and there is always more than one, or else it wouldn't be a photo. |
